Eighteen (18) women dined together over breakfast and discussed a difficult topic common to our Christian walk. That topic was “Suffering”. Planner/Organizer Deaconess Marrin Smith and Pastor Wendell Hall provided the perfect setting to engage on God’s view of suffering. The women were able to share their own insights and experiences that has helped them.
Pastor Hall emphasized examples of suffering in the Bible and the promises God provides for those who suffer for righteousness’ sake. The topic was well-received, and the attendees provided positive feedback.
The bottom-line, Jesus said His followers would experience persecutions. God told His people via Jeremiah, “I know the thoughts I think towards you, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” The Psalmist acknowledged, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” The Bible reminds us that weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. So, hold your heads up high, my sisters. Because Jesus promises to be with you always, even until the end. That means Jesus travels with you for your entire journey. Amen.
